Q Kant opens his article with the argument that enlightenment begins when one stops being dependent on another in developing a personal point of view. I am interested in hearing from you on this--under what circumstances have you had the best potential for enlightenment--in your public/private schooling? at the university? among your family while growing up? I also love Kant's pair of questions--Do we live in an enlightened age? Do we live in an age of enlightenment? How would you answer these two questions as you look at the environment you live in today? Another matter that intrigues me--the profession you hope to enter. Do you think personal enlightenment is a requirement for you to do that job well, or would it be a liability?

Kant opens his article with the argument that enlightenment begins when stops being dependent on another in developing a personal point of view. I agree with this completely. We all become an enlightened person when we start thinking about any situation ourselves and form our own opinion without any influence from others. This helps us to take a mature decision when we think independent of any other person’s opinions.
